Paul Cooke, Managing Director at Provide Wellbeing, commented: โ€œThis is a really exciting time for Provide Wellbeing. This acquisition is a significant milestone in our strategic growth plan. Integrating Mind Professionals into Provide Wellbeing, and the wider Provide Community Group, allows us to enhance our Neurodevelopmental services and diversify our services further. Recent reports highlight a significant challenge facing autism and ADHD assessment services in the UK. The National Autistic Society indicated that as of December 2022, 140,000 people were waiting for an autism assessment in England, which had increased to 172,022 by December 2023, with 86% waiting longer than the recommended 13 weeksโ€‹ (National Autistic Society)โ€‹. The Independent warns that this number could rise to 190,000 by 2024, alongside a growing backlog for ADHD diagnosesโ€‹ (The Independent)โ€‹.

Jackie Olsen, Head of Neurodevelopmental Services at Provide Wellbeing, commented  โ€œThe national context for access to support and assessment services for neurodevelopmental conditions like autism and ADHD is really concerning. Long waiting times are creating barriers to receiving crucial diagnoses and I know that the impact of this can be very damaging in many aspects of a personโ€™s life.  Provide Wellbeing aims to provide solutions by offering swift access to autism and ADHD services, for children and adults, which include triage, signposting to support services, autism assessments and ADHD assessment and medication pathways.  Rated as โ€˜Outstandingโ€™ by CQC, Provide Wellbeingโ€™s highly qualified and experienced Drs and therapists provide first class support and care. We are proud to offer an alternative solution, where we aim to keep waiting times low and provide advice and information at all stages of the assessment journey.โ€

Provide Wellbeing aims to offer a solution, with far shorter waiting times for autism and ADHD assessments than the national average. With some NHS services reporting waits of up to 3 years (The Retreat Clinics), Provide Wellbeing directly addresses this issue by offering a range of support and services for individuals with autism and ADHD, potentially alleviating the strain on NHS resources and providing timely help to those in need. As well as partnering with the NHS, Provide Wellbeing also offers the Right to Choose option.
